Me and George Winston

Fall is my favorite time of year. Every year I see a new color. Last year it was this iridescent red. This year it was an orange I’d never seen before.

I used to listen to George Winston’s Autumn album. It was piano music with just a tinge of sadness.
One of my favorite memories was about 12 years ago and it was daylight savings day where we fell back. We were living in this little two bedroom triplex and it was crowded but the swooper was gone a lot. It was like 6:30 pm and pitch black outside and the girls and I were watching something, probably of the Disney variety. I looked around and all the girls were asleep. Just everywhere, conked out because it felt so late.
It was peaceful and quiet and I remember feeling like everything was in its place. That’s what feels off now, everyone is not in their place.

But I’m here. And even though I have a tendency to make bad decisions in the fall, I’m still here. And probably going to bed. It’s dark outside.
